Our customers’ core activity is extracting iron ore. By outsourcing critical areas of their operations to Bis Industries they can generate more value from their core activity and operate more efficiently. We focus on downstream processing, including crushing, and on site haulage.
We take end-to-end ownership of the entire chain of operations: we manage the stockpiling, crushing, and sorting of materials. We deploy a range of specifically designed vehicles to haul materials from the bottom of the pit to the processing plant, onto its end location onsite, train, or port, irrespective of the distances.
To guarantee service levels, we regularly take ownership of on site haul road construction and maintenance, including grading, re-sheeting and dust suppression.
We employ experienced, highly skilled workers and own and operate specialised equipment: we deploy specifically developed dual powered road trains and dual powered pit haulers to build a complete logistical solution.
Iron ore handling services and processing services
In South Australia and in Western Australia we are responsible for the stockpile management of iron ore on a number of our customers’ sites.
Assisted by the efficiency of our multi-trailer dual powered pit haulers and dual powered road trains, we add value to our customers’ load and haul operations.
At most of these sites we take responsibility for haul road maintenance, including grading, re-sheeting and dust suppression. Because we focus on the overall profit of our customers, we operate throughout the mine value chain. As a result, a number of our customers have also outsourced their crushing and screening activities to us.
Shipping services
In South Australia, we operate and maintain a customer’s 250,000 tonne export ore storage facility which includes a rail wagon tip pocket, conveyor systems, dust extraction and filtering systems and ship loading equipment. We operate the pit-to-port system on behalf of the customer.
